Writing
During the year we will be focusing on the 6 Traits of Writing approach as they have had in previous years. Products will include, but are not limited to: Weekly journals, Personal Narrative, Short Story, Friendly letter, Business Letter, Research Report, and Descriptive Essay. I find that by doing these at school I tend to get better results, but they may be asked to complete some of these at home as well.
Grammar
We will be doing grammar skills in some capacity almost every single day. This year we are fortunate enough to have brand new English books for each student. Hopefully, these concepts will stick and boost writing ability!! The book is broken down into Units that will then have some form of assessment at the end of each.
